Application of flow meter in microbrewery

Usually the water flow is monitored by flow meter. It has screen and will be installed on the pipeline.

Some brewers prefer to install a flow meter to check how much water has entered the MLT, as well as the sparging water.
And some brewers prefer to install it to know how much wort enters the fermenters.

In some countries, the government require to install a flowmeter for measuring how much beer was sold to collecting taxes.
These are very common practices.

Sometimes, brewers may also want to monitor the flow from Lauter tun to the Boil kettle. Then it may not necessary.
As you know, the flow rate at different stage of lautering is not the same, wort may even not fill the entire pipeline at the end stage of lautering process.
In this case, the measured data of wort from LT to KT may be incorrect.
So it’s better to know the volume will a liquid indicator.

And for larger system, the flow meter is easily to be installed on high position or others which are not convenient to see the information on the screen.
In this case, a totalizer will be installed on control cabinet to display the information of the flow meter.
