Do the gas direct fire versions cost more than electric?

Yes, the gas fire version cost more than electric heat brewery system, that is about 1000USD~2500USD based on different volume brewhouse. As we would equip the burn room and gas burner for the vessel, which needs to be heated.

But in terms of long-term use, the consume of gas and electric on price will be different in different area when we heat same amount of water to raise same temp.
For example, for 500L water is heated from 20℃ to 100℃, that approximately need 40000Kcal quantity of heat.
That is to say, heat 500L water from 20℃ to 100℃, electricity consumption is approximately 46.5 degrees of electricity; Natural gas consumption is about 5 m³(roughly 3.5kg).If we take into account the use ratio(65%~80%) of gas direct heat. The more correct gas consumption is 6m³~8m³.
Please check the price of each source in your local. I believe you will find the most economical ways.
