How To Maintain Your Craft Brewery Equipment Effectively?

Whether you brew beer at home or in business, if you want to produce delicious beer, you must be as familiar with the beer fermentation and brewing process as possible.

The installed wort tank needs to be cleaned with clean water to remove any dirt in the wort tank. For those with heating pipes, leakage test is required. Add water to the mash tank and heating pipe to see if the heating pipe leaks. If there is leakage, tighten the screws to ensure safety. If there is an electric steam boiler or gas boiler, heat the mash tank and check the operation of the boiler. The boiler is equipped with a water treatment device (softened water), which can soften the tap water for use in the boiler.

Maintenance Of Brewhouse

After each brewing, the water tank should be cleaned with a high-pressure water gun to remove any residue. Clean the pipes of the winery with tap water to avoid residues. In particular, if there are grains of wheat adhering to the heating pipe, it is necessary to clean them as soon as possible to prevent the next time they stick to the pot. After the plate heat exchanger is put into the tank, clean it with tap water first, and then backwash it. Finally, use oxygen or carbon dioxide to dry the water in the plate-type heat exchanger to prevent the water from being in the odor state for a long time. If the brewery does not use it for a long time, it needs to clean the brewery system with hot alkaline water, which is the same as the cleaning process of new tanks, especially the plate heat exchanger. The clamp connection of the accessories of the brewery system needs to be tightened after use for a period of time to prevent leakage and injury during use.

Brewery equipment is different from the electric heating used in ordinary small equipment. This heating method generally adopts steam heating, so the boiler is usually equipped when the equipment is installed.

Routine Maintenance Of Fermentation Tank

1. Before using the fermentation tank, the pressure maintaining and leak proof test must be carried out. Tighten the clamp, maintain the pressure with water or compressed air, and the pressure gauge is 0.2MP per day. If the value of the pressure gauge of the fermentation tank remains unchanged, it means that there is no air leakage and it meets the production requirements and can be used.

2. Cleaning of fermentation tank. There is a cleaning ball in the fermentation tank. The pressure of tap water must reach 0.2MP, so that the cleaning ball can be cleaned 360 degrees without dead angle. If the pressure cannot meet the requirements, it is necessary to add water to the fermentation tank and clean it with a cleaning pump.

3. Maintenance of solenoid valve and temperature probe of fermentation tank. The 24V power supply of the solenoid valve should not be in contact with water. The flow of the solenoid valve should be checked.
