How to increase brewery production with a beer centrifuge?

The question on every brewer's mind is: How can I increase the yield of my beer without compromising on taste and quality? The answer: a beer centrifuge.

A centrifuge uses internal centrifugal force to accelerate physical separation. This is achieved by using gentle acceleration in the bowl as well as in the internal disc stack. The output of the centrifugal force spins thousands of times per minute, which provides more beer settling zones to clarify and remove unwanted yeast, hops and protein solids from the beer in a fraction of the time.

This cutting-edge technology allows breweries to achieve greater throughput, meet shifts in demand and maintain their profitability. Used for pre-clarification, green beer separation, hot wort separation and beer recovery, they ensure that a minimum level of oxygen is absorbed as it passes through the separator and prevent contamination and bacterial transfer between beer batches.

Compared to beer filters, centrifuges provide faster clarification and/or polishing without removing volatile aromas and flavours from the beer recipe. Compared to filters, centrifuges are less prone to clogging and also increase the recovery of beer from the bottom of the tank. The centrifuge can increase production by 6-10%, which is a good return on investment, especially for brewers looking to increase production to meet growing demand.

Here's how it works: When yeast, hops, puree or any other ingredient is added to the beer, they end up at the bottom of the tank, absorbing liquid along the way. Essentially, these particles absorb your money; when these solids are poured out, a portion of your beer is lost with it.

Wasteful solids loss is a major concern for many micro and commercial breweries. If excess particles are not extracted from the beer during the fermentation process, it can affect the long-term stability of the beer and the clarity of the final product, as well as the taste of the customer.

Centrifuges have proven to be a more efficient and economical method of removing excess particles. The centrifugal force of the machine does not allow these solids to build up, while still infusing your beverage with the essential aromatics and oils in the product.

Fast turnaround times can increase throughput by reducing settling times. Whereas settling of conventional fermentation or maturation tanks usually takes several days, a centrifuge can perform the same task in a few hours, thereby increasing tank turnaround times and increasing brewery capacity by 15-20%!
