Install the brewery in the restaurant or bar
How to transfer beer from the fermentation tank to the beer tap?
Here are three ways to sell beer on tap:
Option 1: Selling beer from the fermentation tanks directly
Connect the beer line onto the beer racking port on the fermentation tank.
Connect the other end of the beer line with the beer tap.
Insulate the whole beer lines.
This is suitable for selling beer in short distance. So it is easier to clean the beer lines after finishing one selling day without losing much beer. Since we do not need to build the cold room, it is the most economical way to sell beer.
Shortage: During the whole selling process which may take several day, the fermentation tank is always occupied by beer, so we can not have a fast turnover of the fermentation tanks.
Option 2: Selling beer from the kegs.
Firstly, we fill all beer or part of beer from the fermentation tanks to the kegs.
Then put the kegs into a cold room, usually near the bar.
Then we connect the beer line with the kegs and beer taps to sell the beer.
Advantage:
No need to worry about the sanitation status around the racking port of the fermentation tank; Suitable for larger quantity selling compared with the option 3 in below.
Faster turnover of fermentation tank.
More flexible.
Shortage:
Extra investment to build the cold room.
Option 3: Selling beer from the kegerator or keg cooler:
From kegerator:
We fill beer in the kegs and put the kegs into the kegerator to be cooled there. The kegerator is connected with the taps.
Advantage:
Easier and flexible connection with beer hoses to taps.
Cheaper (for smaller selling quantity)
Disadvantage:
The space inside the kegerator is limited , so we should put suitable size and volume kegs in the kegerator. And the outer size of the kegerator is usually big.
From keg cooler:
We fill beer in the kegs and put the kegs beside the keg cooler, the beer come out from the keg and go through the cooling coils inside the keg cooler and finally to the taps.
Advantage:
Since the keg is put outside the keg cooler, so no limitation to the volume/size of the kegs.
Disadvantage:
Better sell out the beer within one day, as the keg put into the normal environment that will easily change the temperature thus effect the beer taste.
Option 4: Selling beer from the serving tanks
The serving tank is usually bigger like 500L or 1000L.
The serving tank can be single wall or double wall.
Advantage:
Convenient.
Allow the fast turnover of the fermentation tank
Since the serving tanks is lager than the kegs that can sell beer for longer time, we do not need to often disconnect and connect the beer lines.
Shortage: Higher investment on serving tanks.
