Brewery equipment is the core of a craft brewery operation because it connects everything together. If the brewery is designed correctly, it can also become the main feature of the brewery – the main attraction that attracts customers. Additionally, good brewery design can save a lot of money. When building and equipping your brewery, carefully consider your goals and desires for your brewery so that the brewing process can run smoothly and achieve beneficial results.
Configuration
We have designed many different brewery equipment combinations over the years. However, the most common is a 2 vessel brewery, which has a mash/filter tank and a kettle/whirlpool tank. If you need to brew more than 2 times a day, then you might consider a 3-container brewing system.
In addition to the 3-container solution, you can also use a 4-container or even a 5-container brewery. This configuration divides each process in the brewing process into separate containers, so you can brew more beer in a limited time. When choosing equipment, you need to be wise, bigger equipment is not always better. There is a certain balance between the size and number of breweries you have, and you need to try to find that balance. Opting for a smaller brewing system may also be a wise choice. The money saved can be used to purchase more fermenters to increase the brewery's output and achieve balance.
Leave extra space
When creating an equipment floor plan, don’t try to squeeze equipment together or plan every inch of space. You need to allow more space than expected to accommodate mobility requirements. You can arrange your equipment according to your beer brewing process, making it easier to move from one brewing step to the next.
There doesn't seem to be any specific "best layout" for breweries. Each brewery will have a personalized brewery design based on the space within the brewery. Of course, a good beer equipment manufacturer will also customize your brewery to fit your space and requirements.
Types of beer brewed
The brewery builder must fully understand the type of beer the brewery plans to produce and the equipment required. Before deciding to purchase beer equipment, you need to determine what type of beer you need to brew, as different beer brewing processes require different beer equipment.
Once you understand the style of beer you plan to brew, you can better communicate with your equipment manufacturer. When planning a brewery, offering 20 craft beers is theoretically a good option. But in actual brewing, you may not be able to produce such a wide variety of beers. In the craft beer industry, the quality of the beer is better than the type of beer produced, and the type of beer produced can be even better.
