The design of dry hopping feeder for beer conical fermenters

The design of dry hopping feeder
Normally, the brewer would pitch the hops into the fermenter through dry hopping port or top manway directly. In this case, the gas in the fermenter( such as CO2) is very possible to go out, and the air outside is possible to go in, which will affect the flavor of beer more or less. So, how to avoid this problem? Recently, we design a new hopping feeder, which consists of dry hopping hose and port. Please check the following pictures.

Before pitching hops, firstly assemble the dry hopping house on the port by Tri-Clamp.
Secondly, unscrew the top cap and put the hops in the dry hopping house.
Thirdly, screw down the top cap.
Fourthly, open the butterfly valve, then the hops would drop down to the feremtner.

This design and operation is able to avoid the problem we mentioned at beginning and create better environment for brewing.
