The steel thickness influence on tank life
The steel thickness has much influence on the tank service life.
For example, if the inner shell is 2mm, its theory life is among 10-15years.
While if 3mm inner shell and 2mm outer shell, it is theory life is about 20 years.
If any supplier will tell you his tank service life is 30-50 years. Please take care of your wallet to him.
As we know, the steel has certain extent ductility. No problem for 50 years’ service time if you just use it as a water tank. However during the brewing process, the brewhouse tank will be heated again and again. What’s more, the fermenting process is under pressure. Because the pressure variation and thermal expansion, the tank life is influenced a lot. It is obvious like human beings. If we always work under pressure, our life will shorten.
