What effects does the electrical heating have on the brewing process?

The heating method of brewhouse is generally divided into three types, electric heating, direct fire heating and steam heating.
For the choice of heating method, it often requires the brewer to evaluate the brewing technical,  heating efficiency, budget and so on.

For micro breweries, electric heating is a heating method that is often chosen.
So what effect does it have on the brewing process?
Actually it usually has more effect on infusion mashing.

If you use electrical heating:

Because the wort volume and the temperature need to be reached are fixed.
Therefore, the temperature can be reached by the mixing is also very limited.
It’s not easy for step mashing.

In addition, it’s not good to equip heating elements on the MLT.
Mash is something what mixed with water and grist. It's not liquid.
If it is heated with electrical element, the temperature near the heating element will be very high, the mash is easily to be scorch and can't be heated evenly.
