Here please allow me to introduce the working principles of wort grant as well as when its being used in beer brewing process to you, any questions for this or brewery equipment please feel free to contact me for more interested information!

Wort grant, also called glass grant, lauter grant or wort balance column, is an essential part to help with wort lautering that usually suggested to be included in micro brewery systems.
Where is it being located?
As a wort collection vessel, it is usually made of transparent glass and being placed between lauter tun and boil kettle, stainless steel model could also be provided for special requests.

Whats the advantages of using it?
1. The most important role of it is to avoid to produce negative pressure in Lauter Tun. As we know most cases the liquid flowing in brewery systems are usually drove by pumps, and after lautering, the glass wort grant allows the wort flowing down in natural gravity and provides a buffer between the outflow from the lauter tun and the inflow to the boil kettle. This mitigates the potential for a vacuum caused by the over-suction of the pump, which might compact the grain bed and cause a stuck mash.
2. Besides, brewers can observe the condition of wort through the Grant and pump it back to realize relautering if it is not clear enough.
When it usually being used in beer brewing process?
When mashing is over, the wort after lautering will flow into the wort grant and then being pumped into the boil kettle for next boiling. If no boil kettle included in the system like the preparing of distilling mash, it will pumped directly into the heat exchanger to be cooled.

Other configurations and more details to be discussed to meet your personal demands and special requests, we shall be honored to support you build your brewery dream in any way we can.
