How to Choose a Suitable Brewery Equipment

Hello! Here is Tiantai Beer Equipment Co., Ltd.
Welcome to visit our brewery equipment website!
Please allow me to share this short article of how to choose a set of brewery equipment if you are planning to build a brewery and start a beer business with you.

As we can see the craft beer brewing business is rising and booming these days, many of our clients choose to start a beer brewing career just out of love for beer, perhaps it is a great pleasure for people who love beer like us to enjoy no matter the brewing process or the final product. For this very reason, we persisted to produce good-quality and well-functioning brewery equipment for all capacity of equipment ranged from nano-size homebrewing equipment to large-size of big factory.

Speaking of building a brewery, we always received such questions from our clients that what size of brewery equipment should they choose or how many fermenters to use at the very beginning. Let’s talk about this together:

For clients who want to build a brewery, restaurant or brewpub the first time, we usually suggest the micro brewery equipment ranged from 200L to 500L to them. If there is no much experiences before with beer brewing, then 200L or 300L is good choices to go.

And for this capacity of equipment, the classic 2-tank brewhouse system is always the preferable choice and widest selection among our clients, which is the combination of Mash/Lauter Tun+Kettle/Whirlpool Tun+Hot Liquor Tank.
As you can see from the above photo, the hot liquor tank is bigger than the other two tanks, technically speaking, it is double size of the brewhouse tanks. That is designed mainly for reasons below:
1) For a brewery, multi-batch brewing in a day is common to see and so we have to prepare enough hot water for mashing, and therefore the twice volume of hot water tank will make sure sufficient hot water supplied to you.

2) And for saving energy. As we all know the temperature of the water come out of the heat exchanger after cooling the wort can be as high as 90 centigrade, and it is still clean and not being polluted, therefore it can be recycled into the hot liquor tank and saving a part of energy.

The other key factor that will affect the size of your brewery equipment is your space for it. Both the height of ceiling or areas might affect the size of brewery equipment.
And for this reason, we usually do some study and design a layout drawing for our clients based on their dimensions or floor plan.

Of course if you have some brewing experiences and the space is allowed, 500L brewery equipment with electric heating is also a nice choice. With more fermenters, the expanding plans in the near future can be easily realized.

If you have any idea of this or any questions please feel free to contact me for more interested details.
I’d love to discuss more about pro brewing with you!

Cheers!
