How to Use a Wort Grant for Wort Transfer from Lauter Tun to Kettle?

In the beer brewing process, a wort grant plays a vital role in transferring wort from the Lauter Tun to the Kettle efficiently. Here's a brief guide on how to use a wort grant for this purpose:

Setup: Ensure that your Lauter Tun and Kettle are clean and ready.

Position the Wort Grant: Place the wort grant between the Lauter Tun and Kettle, ideally at an elevated height. This elevation helps create a natural flow from the Lauter Tun to the Kettle due to gravity.

Connect Hoses and Pipes: Attach hoses or pipes to the wort grant's inlet and outlet.

Open the Lauter Tun Valve: Start by opening the Lauter Tun valve to initiate wort flow into the grant.

Adjust Flow Rate: Use the wort grant's control valve to regulate the wort flow rate.

Monitor the Transfer: Keep a close watch as wort flows smoothly into the Kettle, adjusting the flow rate as needed.

Rinse the Lauter Tun: After transfer, rinse the Lauter Tun with hot water to extract any remaining sugars or flavors.

Close Valves: Close the valves on the Lauter Tun and wort grant when the transfer is complete.

Collect Wort in Kettle: Wort is now collected in the Kettle for the next brewing stages.

Clean and Sanitize: Post-transfer, ensure thorough cleaning and sanitization of all equipment.

Using a wort grant simplifies the wort transfer process while providing control and precision in your brewing operations. It's a valuable tool in your brewery for a seamless and efficient brewing experience. Cheers to your brewing success!
