The difference of beer fermenters and beer brite tanks in a brewery

In beer brewery equipment industry, beer fermenters and beer brite tanks are both important vessels used in the brewing process, but they serve different functions.
The beer fermentation tanks and beer brite tanks are usually included in Tiantai’s beer brewing equipment project too.
In this article, we will discuss the differences.

Beer fermenters are vessels used to ferment wort into beer. Wort is a liquid mixture of malted barley, water, and hops that is boiled to extract sugars and flavors before being cooled and transferred to a fermenter. Yeast is then added to the wort, and the fermentation process begins. During fermentation, the yeast consumes the sugars in the wort and produces alcohol and carbon dioxide.

Beer fermenters are typically made of stainless steel. They can be open toped or pressured, depending on the specific needs of the brewery. Open top fermenters allow for more oxygen to come into contact with the wort, which can result in a more complex flavor profile, while pressured beer fermentation tanks limit oxygen exposure, resulting in a cleaner, more consistent flavor.

Beer fermentation tanks are equipped with a variety of features to aid in the fermentation process, such as temperature control systems, agitation mechanisms, and pressure release valves. These features ensure that the fermentation process proceeds smoothly and that the resulting beer has the desired flavor and aroma profile.

--Beer Brite Tanks/Serving tanks/bright beer tanks

Beer brite tanks, also known as serving tanks or bright beer tanks, are vessels used for the storage and conditioning of beer before it is packaged for distribution. Unlike fermenters, brite tanks are not used for the primary fermentation of beer.

After the fermentation process is complete, the beer is transferred to a brite tank for clarification and carbonation. Brite tanks are equipped with a carbonation stone and a pressure gauge, which allows brewers to control the level of carbonation in the beer.

Brite tanks are typically made of stainless steel and range in size from a few gallons to several hundred gallons. They are often equipped with a sight glass, which allows brewers to monitor the clarity of the beer as it conditions.

The main function of a brite tank is to ensure that the beer is clear, carbonated, and ready for packaging. Brite tanks are also used for short-term storage of beer before it is packaged and shipped to distributors.

In summary, beer fermenters and beer brite tanks serve different functions in the brewing process. Fermenters are used for the primary fermentation of beer, while brite tanks are used for the storage and conditioning of beer before it is packaged for distribution. Both types of tanks are essential for producing high-quality beer, and careful attention must be paid to their design and operation to ensure that the beer is of the highest quality possible. Tiantai Beer equipment can help design and manufacture such tanks from 50L-300HL, welcome your inquiries about your brewery equipment project!
