Is The wort plato and alcohol degree the same?

There are many chinese think the beer plato as alcohol degree, but actually they are different.

1.The beer degree
The mean of beer’s degree and spirit’s degree are totally different. Usually for spirit, its degree is the alcohol degree, while the beer’s degree mean the wort’s degree. They are different.  The beer’s alcohol come from the maltose, for example“12°” beer, it means the beer is brewed by wort with 12° maltose.

2.The beer’s alcohol degree
The beer’s alcohol degree is calculated by the percent of Mass and Volume(M/V%), for example, it shows 12° on bottle label, it means the original wort concentration, and the alcohol degree should be around 4°. Normally, the beer’s alcohol degree mostly range 2-5%, the common light beer at around 3.3-3.8%; while dark beer at around 4%-5%; and the german beer’s alcohol degree mostly at 5%-9%, with pure wheat favor , heavy bitterness. For beer with higher alcohol degree, it also mean the beer’s quality is better is some degree.
So, the wort plato and alcohol degree is proportional relationship. E.g Beer’s wort plato lower than 10°P, the alcohol degree usually lower than 5°, so it is lower plato beer. Usually black beer with high plato, so its alcohol degree usually at above 5°.
