Yeast Propagation System in Brewery Equipment

Yeast Propagation System in Brewery Equipment

yeast propagation, beer fermentation, brewery equipment

Two tanks yeast propagation is a traditional yeast propagation method. In this method, ventilation in beginning stage is necessary. Its expansion is not high, normally, 3.5-4times. The characteristic of this method is as below:
1.Purebred yeast is necessary in every propagation.
2.Drain system and sterilize system completely before next propagation process .

Configuration of two tanks yeast propagation unit
Pre propagation tank(small tank), main propagation tank, recycle pump, yeast transfer, yeast adding, CIP in and CIP out. Except these, pipe, control are also included.
Propagation process
1.Fill wort to small propagation tank-->Sterilize wort-->Cool tank to inoculation temperature-->Adding yeast-->Yeast propagation
2.Fill wort to main propagation tank-->Sterilize wort-->Cool tank to inoculation temperature-->Mixing yeast in small tank to main tank-->Yeast propagation-->Connect pipe from main propagation tank to fermenter-->Clean and sterilize pipe-->Yeast enters into fermenter.

Two tanks propagation method is an independent and closed system, no contamination occurs by sterilizing wort.
