Newly finished 500L Rum distiller still pot distillation equipment

Recently, we newly finished a 500L Rum distiller in Tiantai Factory. Here we are happy to introduce it to you. Hope it could bring you some ideas on your distillery project.:)

How to make rum?

Rum is made by using sugar cane juice as raw material, adding yeast and fermenting it for 3 to 4 days to obtain the fermented liquid, and then distilling the fermented liquid. Typically the resulting distillate requires 6 times the volume of fermentation liquid.

The main configuration of the equipment

*500L Copper Still Pot [Electric Heated]
*Copper Helmet
*Copper Swan Neck and Lyne Arm
*Copper Dephlegmator
*Copper Distill Column [6 Trays]
*Copper Condensor
*Stainless Steel Spirit Receiver Tanks etc.

Advantages of Copper Helmet

Since Helmet has a larger curvature, alcohol will have a larger contact area with copper during the distillation process. The copper material can produce a chemical reaction after contact with alcohol, which can remove more of the unfavorable sulfur flavor.

Lighter lyne arm

With a lighter Lyne arm, the distilled alcohol will flow back along the Lyne arm to the still for repeated distillation, so that the concentration of the distilled wine is relatively high. At the same time, because the  will interact more with copper during the reflux process, therefore, will better remove unfavorable sulfur flavors and give the distilled spirit a lighter taste. Generally, the lyne arm angle is about 10°.
